If you listen to Quebec Prime Minister Legault’s press briefings on television, you may have noticed the presence of sign language interpreters. Has your curiosity been piqued by this language? Have you wondered what it must be like to live with deafness?

As part of the documentary series “You can’t ask that” available on the website of AMI-tv, one episode is about hearing (one of the research themes of our laboratory), and more specifically deafness. In this episode, eight deaf and hard of hearing people agreed to answer anonymous questions from the public, such as “Would you have preferred to be a hearing person?” or “How do we speak to you?”. Their informative answers may help you interact more easily with someone who is Deaf or hard of hearing next time you meet one!
