We are pleased to highlight that Marc-André Marion-Flamand, a new doctoral student in the lab, will be participating in a mini-symposium organized by the CRBLM Student Engagement Committee. This event aims to showcase the research interests of students from the CRBLM’s members. After completing a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in linguistics, Marc-André joined our team to study speech production and aging using electroencephalography, neurostimulation, and tongue movement analysis through ultrasound tongue imaging.

The Centre for Research on Brain, Language and Music (CRBLM) is an interuniversity research consortium funded by the Fonds de recherche du Québec (Natural Sciences & Engineering division). It brings together researchers and students who explore the fascinating connections between the brain, language, and music.

The mini-symposium in which Marc-André will take part is titled: « Avant que les mots ne se perdent : repérer les premiers changements du langage liés au vieillissement et à la maladie » (Before Words Are Lost: Identifying Early Language Changes Associated with Aging and Disease). The symposium will feature three students, including Marc-André! These events provide a unique platform to discover the work of the next generation of researchers in our field.

An overview of Marc-André’s presentation is provided below.
